Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on your computer by your web browser (you know how your passwords are remembered when you log on to your favorite social media site? That’s because of cookies). Cookies helps us analyze web traffic. It helps us to see, for example, which civics topics on the website are popular so we can provide more content that is similar. We use this information for statistical analysis only.

What We Do with Your Information

We use this information to further our mission of providing civics education opportunities to youth. The collection, use, and storage of your information is meant to make our website work better for you and to provide you information about opportunities, events and educational information related to civics education. Except as provided in this Privacy Policy, we do not share this information with third parties, and we will not sell your information or use it for solicitation purposes.

We may use aggregated, de-identified data to help our funding sources better understand our audience and participation in our activities.

We may occasionally share users’ names and addresses with nonprofit partners with a similar mission. If you do not want your or your child’s address exchanged in this way, please contact us to ask that your name and address be removed from any shared mailing lists.

Children Under 13 Years of Age

Kidizenship, Inc. does not knowingly collect information from children ages 12 and under without obtaining explicit parental consent. Children under age 13 registering for contests, our newsletter or any other activity requiring that we collect information from the child are asked to provide a parental e-mail. We send an e-mail to the parent asking the parent to confirm permission to collect information about their child. If you become aware that your under-13 child has given us information without your consent, please contact us; should you want it removed, we will delete your child’s information from our files in a reasonable time.

Contests and User Engagement

Kidizenship, Inc. will offer various opportunities for you to participate in civics-driven activities by entering contests either through our website or by uploading your writings/audio/drawings/photos/videos to various social media platforms in response to specific Kidizenship, Inc. requests. These opportunities have their own rules, which may give Kidizenship additional rights to use entries or submissions (for example, posting contest entries on our website with attribution). If there is any conflict between any contest’s rules and this Privacy Policy, the specific contest rules will control.

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. These are third party sites. We do not control the data they collect. We are not responsible for protecting your privacy or confidential information that you provide to those sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies and are not bound by this policy. You should review the privacy policy of the website you visit before providing any information to that third party website.
