About us
We give student journalists and illustrators a platform to be heard through The SUNN Post, America’s first nationwide student newspaper, and Nashville SUNN— our first local affiliate.
Civic contests
We also publish SUNN contests, which get young people civically engaged through creative expression. Check out our Fly Your Flag contest that we’re co-running right now in partnership with USA TODAY and More Perfect.
Our story
SUNN started as a network of 170+ high school newspapers nationwide who contribute to our publications. Today, the “network” in Students United News Network is those journalism programs (if your program wants to join, sign up for free here!), independent student contributors, and the civic media creators using their voices through our contests. The rising generation has a lot to say, and we are committed to helping them think critically, express themselves creatively, and be confident participants in democracy.
The Students United News Network is operated by the 501(c)3 nonprofit Kidizenship, Inc.
